  • Apple Safari
  • Internet Explorer 11

Firefox also currently works but is not strictly supported as it uses the Gecko browser engine rather than Chromium.

Step 4: How to use GoShare

For ‘how to’ guides and training:

  1. Hover over the cogwheel and select ‘How to use GoShare’

Welcome to the GoShare Knowledge Base. Here you will find access to:

  1. To book a training session for your service, email: WSLHD-GoShare@health.nsw.gov.au
  2. More information about WSLHD GoShare, see WSLHD intranet GoShare page here.

Step 5: Documenting patient consent in eMR

When sending patient resources via GoShare, to maintain patient privacy and avoid risk of harm due to sharing health condition content that may be accessed by a shared device or incorrect patient contact detail, it is important to document:

  1. The patients verbal consent to receive health resources digitally via GoShare
  2. The patient’s preferred contact detail – email or mobile phone

There is no legal requirement to document the patient resources sent.

If you have access to PowerChart:

  • Pre-completed templates or
  • Auto-text,

Search GoShare – Patient Education for the documentation template.

See WSLHD Intranet Documenting consent in EMR for graphic instructions how to access these templates.

Step 6: Tips to engage patients

When sending health information resources to patients, it would be helpful to check with the patient if:

  1. They have a device to receive online health resources. For example: mobile phone or laptop
  2. They have access to wifi or data at home
    • If so, is this limited?
    • If limited, you may need to consider the type of resources sent to patients.

For example:

  • the video content on GoShare (the ‘stories’) are typically 30-40MB, or longer video’s may be around 70MB
  • The animations are usually around 50-60MB.
  • The PDF resources (‘INFO SHEETS’) are usually 2-3MB in size.

To put that in perspective:

An Optus $49p/m phone plan includes 30GB of data (approx. 30,000MB).

This plan could watch one of the larger videos (60MB) on GoShare about 500 times before running out of monthly data allowance.
